Location. The 30-acre breachfront San Luis Resort and Spa sits on the famous Seawall Blvd. of Galveston Island. Moody Gardens and the Strand entertainment district are both within three miles of the hotel.
Hotel Features. The 16-floor San Luis Resort and Spa features a 4,000 square-foot glass promenade that towers over lobby seating clusters featuring a baby grand piano. Hotel indulgences include the Spa San Luis offering body scrubs and mineral wraps. A fitness center offers cardiovascular equipment, a boutique and a beauty salon. The hotel showcases a 50-ton rock waterfall cascading over 12 feet into a heated grotto spa tub, and a 45-foot customer waterslide that sends swimmers into a separate heated pool. On-site dining includes a swim-up bar open summer months, and indoor cocktails served in the private lounge, The Bar. The Steakhouse restaurant includes formal dinner selections and The Café provides a casual dining experience offering selects for breakfast, lunch and diner. Flexible meeting and event space are complemented by a business center and Internet access.
Guestrooms. Each of the 244 guestrooms at the San Luis Resort and Spa are equipped with private balconies, many offering unobstructed views of the ocean. Guestroom corridors are glass-enclosed, and rooms are equipped with complimentary gourmet coffee, Internet access and cable television. Elegant guestrooms include premium bedding and accent furnishings including desks, chairs and sofas. Private baths may include complimentary toiletries, cultured marble sinks, makeup vanities and bathrobes.
Expert Tip. With its eight-foot thick walls, Fort Crockett forms the foundation upon which the hotel is built. The fort was a mobilization center during Mexican Border troubles in 1912 and it was used to train coast artillery and served as a prison camp in World War II.
